About
Laura Meredith is an interracial writer born and raised in Canada. Growing up, Laura noticed that her family was not represented in mainstream media. As she found a passion for writing, she also found a passion for creating the interracial couples that she never saw.
When she's not writing you can find her sipping coffee, learning embroidery exploring the beautiful wilderness around her, and just generally getting lost. She is also an avid reader, and although she loves a good spicy romance, she's known to pick up books from other genres as well.
Laura continues to reside in Canada with her husband, children, and two dogs!

FAQs
Do you write with other authors?
While in the past I have collaborated with another author, I am very picky about who I collaborate with. Having a similar writing style, time management skills, and ability to critique ideas is important for collaborative writing, so it's not something I do regularly.
How often do you publish?
As quickly as I can. I am at the mercy of people like my cover artist, editor, and young children. As a result it's never easy for me to give an exact date of when you can expect all my work. However! Follow me on Instagram as that's where I will post sneak peeks, cover reveals, and any information regarding release dates of my novels.
What is the best advice you received as an author?
Many of us have heard the story of Stephen King. He was rejected so many times that he ended up using a railroad spike to pin them to his wall. What often gets left out is that he took in every bit of criticism he received and used it to improve his writing. I try to remember that when I get any criticism back about my books, and especially when I have a million corrections from my editor
If I leave a review, will you read it?
The honest answer is... no. Please don't take that personally! Reviews aren't meant for me. Once I've published my book, it's done! It's now the world's to enjoy (or not; my books aren't for everyone.)That said, please ensure that you're leaving reviews! Every review counts toward the algorithm! On top of that, reviews help readers find books that they will enjoy, and avoid books that they won't. So even though I may not see your review, someone will, and it will help them!

Blog
Welcome to my personal blog where I will chat all things writing with you! Fair warning, I don't and would never consider myself a writing coach as I don't have the credentials to back that up. However! I'm happy and incredibly excited to share things that have helped me on my writing journey as well as my bookish thoughts! Happy reading!

Introducing the writer behind the blog! In this entry you will learn a little bit about Laura, as well as what you can expect from this blog.
Hi! I'm Laura!

Hi, I’m Laura (she/her). If you’re new to me and/or my work, I’m a Canadian biracial author who loves to write a good spicy romance. Currently, I have two full-length novels and one holiday novella available on Amazon. I also have some spicy romance novels you can read for free on Wattpad. I’ve been shelved multiple times on Wattpad, and my book For the Love of Art was shortlisted for the 2021 Watty’s.I’m not only a writer. I’ve recently reignited my passion for fitness and have been working with a personal trainer to better my health. I go to the gym multiple times a week and walk way more than I ever have in my life, but I love it, and it’s been great seeing my body and mind change. I’m also creative in other ways. I’ve always had a passion for hand sewing and, in the last year, took up embroidery, which is so much fun! After I figured out how to work the floss, it’s one of my favourite pastimes. I also read a lot. You can follow along with my reading and reviews on Goodreads. I’m also a wife and mom to two beautiful children and a dog mom to a blue-heeler pitbull cross and a basset hound. I feel incredibly blessed and proud to live and work in Canada. So, why would you want to follow along with my blog?I’ve always loved helping indie writers because I know how difficult it is. I know how much time, money, and effort goes into getting a novel from an idea to something tangible. Since I’m a writer, I thought this would be a great space to help other writers. I don’t claim to be an expert, and I’d definitely never label myself a writing coach because I don’t have the credentials to back that up. A lot of what I’ve learned over my time as a writer came from other writers. I’d ask questions and give their recommendations a try. Some things worked great for me while others didn’t, so don’t feel bad if as you follow along with my blog, you don’t find that everything works for you. We all have a journey to take as writers, and it’ll look different for each of us.The most asked question I get as a writer is, what advice would I give a new writer? I always think of the story of Stephen King. We hear about his perseverance, which is incredibly important. If you’re just starting on your writing journey, there is so much persevering to be done. For one, you are going to have to redefine what success means. It’s a tiny percentage that puts out their first book and becomes a sensation. So, you’ll have to scale back and be able to see that success is getting that first book out. I digress; back to Stephen King. The part of the story we leave out is that he took every bit of criticism and used it to improve his writing. That’s my advice. Take criticism and use it as a tool.I’m so excited to have you join me on my blogging journey! I hope I can give you tools, tips, and tricks to help you get your novel into the world!
